WHAT IS INDIVIDUAL THERAPY?
At Mindworx™, we specialize in psychotherapy, or talk therapy, which is a tool to help people gain self-knowledge and to attain more fulfillment from their lives. It’s also a way to treat psychological conditions such as depression and anxiety. This form of therapy helps identify underlying patterns and behaviors that may contribute to problematic aspects of your life as well as providing a safe space to explore thoughts and feelings, dreams and memories. Psychotherapy will help you gain insight and self-awareness.
Psychotherapy at Mindworx™ is conducted by psychiatrists and therapists who are licensed clinical social workers. The frequency of sessions can be customized to suit your needs and resources.
HOW DO I KNOW IF INDIVIDUAL THERAPY IS RIGHT FOR ME?
Therapy can help anyone, and is particularly well-suited for people who are interested in learning more about themselves and can talk about their thoughts and feelings. While this may be difficult and might feel awkward at first, it becomes easier and more natural with time and practice.
WHAT ARE GROUP THERAPY/COACHING SESSIONS?
Mindworx™ offers group therapy led by psychiatrists and therapists as well as group coaching workshops led by our Mindworx™ coaches. Group therapy and group coaching sessions are pre-screened groups of people who will attend weekly sessions together. Group therapy at Mindworx™ is a safe and supportive space where you can explore yourself and how you relate to others. We offer general group therapy as well as groups that are focused on a specific concern such as coronavirus/COVID-19, relationship challenges, grief and bereavement, trauma, and depression.
HOW DO I FIND THE RIGHT THERAPIST FOR ME?
We will use your pre-visit form and 15-minute consult to assess your needs and personality to match you with the right Mindworx™ practitioner. Mindworx™ has many practitioners with different specialties, backgrounds, and qualifications. The benefit of multiple providers all working together at Mindworx™ is if our first selection is not the right fit we will gladly provide you with an alternative to fit your needs, personality, and preferences.
DO I NEED A 15-MINUTE CONSULT?
This consult is optional if you are currently in therapy or know what type of treatment you need. A 15-minute consultation allows us to assess your symptoms, needs, and goals for proper treatment. The information we learn about you allows us to pair you with the right type of therapist and treatment. We will also recommend holistic services that support the work you are doing in therapy. Please note that this consultation is required for anyone interested in group therapy.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 15-MINUTE CONSULT, INDIVIDUAL THERAPY, GROUP SESSIONS, AND COACHING?
This quick consultation allows us to assess your symptoms, needs, and goals for treatment. The aim of this consult is to determine what course of treatment is best for you (whether that’s individual therapy, group therapy, or life coaching), which practitioner is right for you, and learn what you want to focus on first.
Individual Therapy is one-on-one with your Mindworx™ practitioner, while Group Therapy is several patients with a practitioner. Coaching can be one-on-one or in a group, focusing on more outer actions and goals. You can schedule an initial coaching session with one of our coaches to identify an action plan, at which time your coach will advise you on how many sessions your initial plan will take.
WHAT KIND OF PAPERWORK AM I FILLING OUT?
Your pre-visit form is a digital document that will need to be filled out prior to your first session, giving us important details such as your current status (never been to therapy, moving practices, on medication, recent trauma, etc.), Medical History, Family History, Treatment History, Personality, Symptoms, Background, as well as an assessment of your goals and needs. This form will be stored in your records via our electronic health record (EHR).
After you’ve completed your pre-visit form and are ready to begin your individualized treatment plan, we will send you the final pieces of paperwork we need to get started. This will include things like your payment information and our policies and procedures.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
We understand that sometimes things come up that are out of our control. If you need to cancel, our Mindworx™ Cancellation Policy requires no less than 24-hours advance notice. If you cancel after that 24-hour window, you will still have to pay the cost of the session. If you book an appointment within the 24-hour window, you will have one hour after booking to cancel.
