At Mindworx, we take a unique approach to mental health, focusing on prevention and improving your mental wellness by making small but relevant changes both at home and in the workplace.

To us, mental health is about emotional, cognitive, and social well-being, which affects how we think, feel, and behave. Spoiler alert – very little doesn’t affect mental health and addressing your mental health can be as simple as making small changes in everyday life to enhance your health and wellbeing.

We call this Everyday Mental Wellness. The idea is that the way we live, the decisions we make, the habits we have, the routines we follow all contribute positively or negatively to our overall mental state.

This prevention based philosophy is supported by the “5 pillars” of everyday mental wellness: We call these the 5 pillars because they do the heavy lifting of supporting individual mental wellness:

  • Sleep
  • Nutrition
  • Exercise
  • Stress management & Coping skills
  • Mindfulness

If individuals can focus in on what is positive and incorporate more of those practices while also identifying the habits and behaviors that are not so good for mental wellness (like routinely not getting enough sleep, for example, or grabbing a bag of chips for lunch, or going through life on autopilot) they can make small changes that have a big impact on anxiety levels, concentration and productivity, mood, engagement with life, and overall level of satisfaction and fulfillment.
